Just a quick note to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We had a lovely day which ended with a very nice dinner. I took a couple of pictures of my Christmas table all decorated for our special dinner.
I used my tartan plates from Target many years ago on my Christmas table . I love tartan. It says Christmas with just a subtle nod. Plus it can be used all winter season. I added new tartan napkins this year. I also used white napkins as well. Laying them together before folding them and putting them through a green napkin ring. Layering napkins is a bit more dressed up. Perfect for a family dinner when you want something a little extra.
The little bowls are from Williams Sonoma. This was their postcard collection. I have the whole set of these little dishes. I did a post here with them. I put a little bottle brush tree in the bowl. Just a bit of festivity. A bit of vintage charm.
The mercury pillar candle holders give a little glamour to the table. While the Santas bring the table a sense of coziness.
The Holly glasses are from Kroger many, many years ago. The gold rims are wearing a bit, so I don’t use them much.
I filled the large bowl with faux greenery, pine cones, holly and ornaments. I am very much a traditional red and green decor person. That’s why there is so much of it on my Christmas table and my home for that matter.
On the menu for tonight was ham, sweet potato casserole and rolls. This was enough since we had been snacking on Christmas cookies and home made cinnamon rolls all day.
It was definitely a lazy day filled with lounging and watching A Christmas Story one after the other. What did we do before the A Christmas Story marathon?
