I burn a lot of candles. They add scent and coziness to whatever room they are lit. My favorite candles come from Bath and Body Works. I always buy multiples of my favorite scents each season. I did a post last year on how I store them.
Burning lots of candles means I have lots of jars to upcycle. Last summer I posted how I used twine to form a nautical jar filled with seashells. I have also monogrammed them using my cricut and vinyl. Filling these with pens, tech accessories like earphones and chargers, little note pads for my desk.
These jars are perfect for holding cotton balls, cotton swabs and makeup brushes, too. I used my Cricut Explore and gold vinyl to create my sparkle and shine bathroom set. I just used the text setting to spell out the words and cut. Then applied the vinyl lettering to the jars.
I had an old shelf sitting in a closet. I spray painted it white then distressed it with sandpaper. This little project is in my daughters bathroom. I hung the shelf in the space between the two mirrors. Three jars fit perfectly. This will help the bathroom stay a bit more organized. Always a plus in a bathroom.
I also added the chevron vinyl design to the jar sitting on the counter. So classic. Don’t you think it goes well with the gold faucets?
This was a zero cost project. I had all the supplies. To think I was going to donate that shelf. I had that shelf sitting a closet for more than a year. I am so glad to have it out of the way and back to usefulness.
Sometimes projects just take time to curate.
I hope this inspires you to look at your unused items and repurpose them. Even transforming them. Grab some spray paint, make some stickers and let me know what you come up with.
