My kitchen is almost my favorite room in my house. I spend a lot time in here of course. Baking is what I would like to do the most. I added a few touches of Christmas in my kitchen that I thought I would share.
This is the kitchen dining area. I put the table runner I sewed and quilted beneath a bowl of greenery and ornaments. I also set my adorable Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus salt and pepper shakers in front of it. This set was my very first Christmas decorations I bought after getting married. They hold a special memory for me. I told my daughter that these were vintage and to be careful with them. She just gave me a funny look and said they weren’t vintage. How old does something need to be before it’s vintage?
Mini boxwood wreaths have been something I have been wanting to decorate with for years. I just couldn’t seem to find any locally. Then I spotted packs of 3 at Dillard’s a week ago. Two packages came home with me that day. I hung each wreath with wired ribbon. I especially like the red and white checks in this ribbon. I got it at Hobby Lobby.
On the dish cupboard, I have displayed my postcard dishes from Williams and Sonoma. I paired the mugs with some plaid mugs I got years ago from Target. All the red and green is so charming on these plates. I put some little bottle brush trees around the dishes for more greenery.
The picture I made using my Cricut and Teresa Collins Christmas cartridge. I put scrapbook paper in the frame and cut out red vinyl and adhered it to the front of the glass. This frame is made specifically for scrapbook pages 12 x 12 . I got mine at Michael’s
I only put a few ornaments in the three tiered stand. I like the minimalist look of this.
I only put a few decorations in the kitchen itself . I hung my Christmas towels. I also displayed my baking Santa and his helper. The platter is so cute. Brings just the right amount of southern charm.
The Santa spoon rest and measuring spoons are just waiting for me to get in here and start some Christmas cookies. Which I think I will do.
I hope you enjoyed my Christmas kitchen tour as much as I enjoyed showing it to you.
