Another room decorated for Fall. I haven’t changed the decor in my kitchen dining area since early spring. Since painting the walls in here, I have been a little wary of putting any nail holes in the walls. I know, silly me. I made another sign using my Cricut Explore and the space above my dish cabinet is the perfect place to hang it.
I placed two hobby boards from Home Depot together for my sign to make it. I then stained the boards brown. Added my design from vinyl stencils cut with my Cricut Explore. Spray painted white over the entire board. Waited for the paint to dry. Which doesn’t take that long but seems forever. I love the reveal of peeling off he vinyl stencil and seeing my design come to life.
I sanded almost the entire board lightly to bring more of the brown stain out. There it is. Signs are kind of addicting to make.
This is a simple fall vignette. I love simple uncluttered displays. I added an enamelware pitcher. Put my pumpkin plates in a chicken wire basket. Stacked my leaf bowls and placed a couple of pumpkin mugs on the bottle tree. Called it complete.
I used my pitcher filled with faux sunflowers on the kitchen table. I sewed the table runner a couple of years ago and I use it every fall.
I am thinking of either painting these cabinets or just replacing them. The orange glow just screams at me. I did paint one piece but the wood used used on these cabinets is just awful There are splits in the front panels. You can’t see them when stained but paint brings the flaws into focus. So the indecision continues.
I would like a bigger less orange kitchen table. I can dream. Just need to find a table I like. Maybe build one?
What do you think?
