I have a lot of sweaters. I wear one nearly every day during the winter and spring months. My office stays cold. Problem was, my sweaters were stored in several places. Some were on a shelf in my closet. Others were in different drawers in my dresser that resides in my bedroom. This made getting dressed in the morning a little difficult. I am not the person who sets out her outfit the night before. Just not going to happen. I needed a sweater storage solution.
On a recent trip to Ikea, I purchased the Alexa tower. Nine drawers of precious space that would fit in my closet.
Upon opening the box, this is what I was faced with….
A little daunting but Ikea’s instructions are all drawings making assembling a breeze. So an hour later, I had this….
Ready for my sweaters. So excited to get them all into one place.
I gathered all my sweaters. Folded and rolled them like I did in Organize Your T-Shirts Tutorial.
The first five drawers in the Aexa tower are shallow so I placed three sweaters flat not standing up in each drawer. These are in a single layer so I can see all the sweaters when opening the drawer. There is one shallow drawer where I was able to fit my cardigans rolled up since they are not as bulky.
The last four drawers are deeper so I was able to stand the sweaters so the fold is up. Again, allowing me to see all the sweaters in that drawer without digging. Joy!
I still have three drawers to fill.
This has made getting ready in the morning so much easier. Plus making putting away my sweaters more enjoyable since they have a dedicated space.
What organizing have you done that has saved you time?
