Fall Decorating in the Foyer

The weather is around eighty degrees as I sit in my screened porch, typing this. I can hear the birds chirping and an occasional car go by. I think we are in for an early fall. There are a few trees whose leaves are beginning to turn. I am excited about the turning colors.

I enjoy fall decorating a lot. The colors are so warm and inviting.  I finished decorating our foyer yesterday. Last year, the foyer only had a little wooden settee with a few pillows on it. I never felt like doing anything with this space due to the horrible PINK wallpaper. This past spring I took care of that by removing the wallpaper and painting the walls a light beige. So much better. Then I bought two tables for the foyer and a chair. It is so much more inviting.

I am only showing one table today. It sits by the stairs. I found the little wheel barrel at Kirklands over the weekend. It is so cute. I added some pumpkins. I saw on Pinterest that people were putting pumpkins atop candle sticks. Fabulous idea. Of course, I copied that.

The sign I made using my cricut machine. I divided the board in half, painting one side red and the other brown. Then applied vinyl letters and the arrow to the sign. I then brushed on beige craft paint. Let it dry and removed the vinyl pieces. Sanding it a little then applying a bit of walnut stain. I really like how it turned out. I didn’t hang the sign but put it the drawer of the table.

I also put a little wire basket filled with a candle ring on the shelf.. The carved pumpkin says Bless Our Home. It fits perfectly in this little space.

Here is the view as you enter through the front door.  I still need to get some wall art for the wall by the stairs. Oh, meet Oreo who is peeking in from the family room.  Hope you enjoyed my fall decorating so far. There is still some more projects for fall I want to do.
