Welcome to my favorite place to be during the non-winter months. Usually in the summer, we don’t spend much time out here but this summer has been very mild and not much humidity. Which makes being out here even more pleasant. I am sitting out here now blogging. Bliss.
There are two entrances from the house to here. One from the kitchen which is used the most and one from the family room. Plus two screened doors, one leading to the back yard and one to the wrap around front porch. As you enter the porch this is what you see:
I love white wicker. I have added lots of pillows and quilts which really soften the space and make it inviting. The adirondack chair has seen many transformations over the years. It started out stained brown then stained red and now painted white.
I found the little white table this year at Garden Ridge. It is classic. The fish has been hanging around for years. The quilts and pillows in this room have all been sewn by me. Sewing has been my passion since I was ten years old.
This is my favorite seat out here. My rocking chair! The chair cushions I have had for years. I find the soft hues of blue, green and white to be very soothing. I sewed and machine embroidered the pillow using a seaside theme.
This chair sits across from the rocker. The plant adds much needed color and grounds the room.
The wicker settee is very comfortable. It also has pillows that I have sewn and machine embroidered.
I have been loving trays on tables. I found this tray at Joanns on clearance. It was black with a print on the bottom. Out came the white spray paint. Now it fits perfectly in this room. The white lamp was another clearance find. It adds warmth as well as light.
This table is used almost daily for lunches, crafts, coffee breaks and sometimes dinner. It’s a fun table to dress up.
I have shown this table before. This is what is viewed from the dining table, reminding us to take it easy. The sailboat sits on one of the burlap ribbon placemats I made in this post
Burlap Ribbon Placemat Tutorial .
Leaving a reminder to leave your cares at the back door. I hope you enjoyed my tour as much as I did showing you around. Now off to get some lemonade.
