It all began with this lamp, which I can’t find a lampshade I like or in the right proportion.
I decided that adding a cute little lamp would add some necessary lighting and character to my kitchen . See the base ? I already had the counter top full of canisters, my foodsaver, a can opener, toaster, stand mixer and a tiered wire stand. There was no room to add the lamp. Looking over my tired kitchen, it was time to remove all items that were not used on a daily basis. Leaving me with this:
Once all items were off the counter, I realized the counter top really needed a deep cleaning. Clean is much better. I had noticed earlier this week, my kitchen cart was grimy especially the shelves underneath. Hauling it outside, I scrubbed and hosed it off. I hang my potholders on hooks on one side. I still had Christmas potholders out. And they were being used daily. So the holiday potholders were put away and the everyday ones washed. This is snowballing into a bigger task then just adding a lamp. I have run out of time for today, so here is where I am at: Clutter free, just waiting for accessories to brighten it up.
