I have created a few different subway art signs using my Cricut, vinyl and spray paint. They are lots of fun to make, cheap and can be seasonal. When I saw the Porch Rules signs on Pinterest I knew I had to make one. Using the leftover piece from a hollow door that was used in a different project, I began. First I painted the entire sign white. Then using my Cricut, I cut out phrases from vinyl.
To make sure I aligned all the phrases straight and centered, I drew a line in pencil down the center and lines horizontally. Using transfer tape with grid lines, it easy to align the phrase onto the tape and then onto the board.
Using a tongue depresser which came with the transfer tape, I adhered the lettering to the board. I have used this transfer tape over and over. Don’t throw it away unless it has lost it’s stickiness.
