They are lined with foil so that the cupcake batter doesn’t soak through like ordinary paper liners.
Being a messy cupcake baker I used an ice cream scoop to fill the liners in the muffin tin. This worked okay. I got in too much of hurry and still spilled some batter. This did work better than pouring or using a ladle or a spoon. I just need to slow down.
The Cool Whip Frosting is delicious and was easy to pipe but with only one tub there wasn’t enough to frost all 20 cupcakes. I frosted 16. Probably best for a 13×9 cake. Or dipping with strawberries…….
